Featured Rescue: Captain "Cappy" the German Shepherd / Lab at One Step Closer Animal Rescue

**THIS IS A POST HIGHLIGHTING A FEATURED RESCUE ANIMAL WHO NEEDS A LOVING HOME!**

Captain is a long term resident and has seen many other dogs come and go while he has been at the shelter waiting and waiting for his forever home. Captain has the most expressive eyes that look at you begging for love. He is housebroken and knows basic commands. He is a playful dog who loves his toys. He can't get enough squeaky toys and has his collection. Captain also loves to go for car rides and to be outdoors and explore. He has a high prey drive and loves to chase squirrels, chipmunks, etc. and will dig under fences to try to get to them.
"Cappy" thrives on being with his person and he is BIG enough to fill all your affection needs. Captain loves mental and physical simulation to keep him happy/content.
Captain's adopter needs to understand that he loves to eat so much that he needs to be left alone while he enjoys his meals and treats. Captain can be picky about his dog friends and would probably do best as an only dog and in a home with no children. This Shepherd mix boy is about 6-7 years old and 55 pounds.

Captain would do best in a home with the following criteria:
- No kids
- No other dogs/cats/pets
- Experienced dog owner
- Low foot traffic home (non active home without lots of people coming in and out)
