    Sensational Soul Cruisers

The Sensational Soul Cruisers are not just another 11-man vocal harmony group with horns. While it is still sometimes possible to find a band featuring a similar line up of instruments, it is unlikely that you will ever find another that performs with as much energy, passion, and talent as these guys. From their humble beginnings rehearsing in Freehold Borough at the chicken coops on Route 33 to the basement of the Cycle Shop on Throckmorton Street, this band has come a long way from its “Eddie and the Cruisers” days to become one of New Jersey’s best kept secrets.

Under the tutelage of legendary Jersey Shore sax player Screamin’ Steve Barlotta, who has been the captain of this fantastic soul cruise for over 30 years, who has catapulted this band from the recesses of a dingy basement to over 200 performances a year while capturing the true essence of the Jersey Shore sound and its true R&B roots. Fortunately for those of us that feel that the sound of classic Philly Soul, Motown, Disco, Stax, and the music of The Temptations, Four Tops, Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago, The Trammps and other such groups was and still is some of the best music ever recorded or played live, there will be plenty of chances to see the Sensational Soul Cruisers perform this year and for many years to come. While the band travels to and plays concerts in theaters, clubs, public festivals, and private events throughout the country, they will be spending quite a bit of time up & down the east coast this year.

Over the past 3 decades the Soul Cruisers have been fortunate enough to grace the stage with many great artist from Bruce Springsteen, Little Anthony and The Imperials, Gloria Gaynor, Gary US Bonds, John Cafferty, Southside Johnny, The Emotions, Bon Jovi, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder. As well as being the long time favorite house band at New York City’s famed Copacabana.

Nostalgia is easy. Easy money. Easy memories. And the peak-and-crash crash rush of the comfortable and familiar, which fades away in an instant. Inspiration is hard. Achieving it demands vulnerability, cooperation, and a belief that the next
thing you create could genuinely move someone’s soul.
Over the many years together, the men of Fastball have come to appreciate that the whole point of their careers together is building off of the trust, creativity and just plain hard work of making inspired music together. It’s a career highlighted by the early career chart-topping success of hit single “The Way,” which guitarist Miles Zuniga wryly remarks, “I like to say that ‘The Way’ gave us the freedom to continue doing what we do.”
What the band has done steadily through the years is continually hone its voice and sound, which has further evolved on its new self-titled album, recorded in far west Texas at Sonic Ranch Studio with acclaimed producer David Garza. Fastball is the fourth album the band has made during a 10-year streak that founders Zuniga, guitarist/singer Tony Scalzo, and drummer Joey Shuffield agree has seen them at their most creative and open-hearted as a trio of musicians and lifelong friends.

    Benefit for The Sato Project

NOTE: This is an all-ages show!

deSoL is a multi cultural brotherhood from Asbury Park, NJ whose music mixes rock hooks with fiery Latin rhythms sung in English, Spanish & “Spanglish.” The result is a musical stew where the individual styles of the six musicians combine to create a sound that keeps audiences on their feet.

deSoL’s infectious and relatable live show is a physical and spiritual experience.

Formed in the early 2000s, they spent 10 years honing their live show in front of audiences across the US. Then, on the strength of two AA hit singles “Karma” and Sing It All Night” they became a fixture on the festival circuit and scored support slots for several bands including Los Lonely Boys, The Legendary Wailers, Widespread Panic and REM. After a a break to focus on family, the pandemic hit. The band recently reunited to write and record a crop of new songs and perform again in select east coast venues.

Their music and message has remained upbeat and positive and appeals to listeners of all ages and backgrounds.

deSoL: of the sun, for the people…

Partial proceeds to benefit The Sato Project. For additional information please see mission statement below and visit: thesatoproject.org

The Sato Project is dedicated to rescuing abused and abandoned dogs from Puerto Rico. There are currently an estimated 500,000 stray dogs roaming the island’s streets and beaches. With no access to food, fresh water, or veterinary care, many of these dogs are living daily lives of severe suffering. The municipal shelter system is drastically overwhelmed, with only five shelters across all 78 of the island’s municipalities. These shelters have a combined euthanasia rate of over 94%. For thousands of stray and abandoned dogs in the area in which we operate, we are their only hope.

    DEAD POET SOCIETY
    FISSION Tour
    with ANDRES

Asked what it is he wants audiences to take away from FISSION, the second album from Dead Poet Society, Jack Underkofler offers these eight words: “We want to leave them with the truth.”

The affable and engaging 30-year-old delivers these words with the forthrightness that marks his discussions about the band he fronts, completed by Jack Collins (guitar), Will Goodroad (drums) and Dylan Brenner (bass), and the art this collective of college friends have exhaustively dedicated themselves molding, too often to their own detriment.

It’s an answer that epitomizes the dedication with which the quartet approach their craft, and the search for its purest, most meaningful form. “It’s not as simple as saying we want our music to leave people with a positive outlook,” Underkofler explains. “You want music to speak to wherever you find yourself. We want to leave people feeling that whatever they are experiencing is valid, no matter what place they are at in their lives.”

After a decade defining, redefining and perfecting their art, where Dead Poet Society find themselves on the eve of their sophomore release is much clearer. Make no mistake: Dead Poet Society are a uniquely captivating group, rock’s next great breakout act, with FISSION capturing the hearts and challenge the minds of fans old and new on the journey
    ahead.

Five years since her debut album Delivery, Mikaela Davis has moved away from her hometown of Rochester, shared the stage with the likes of Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Christian McBride, Bon Iver, Lake Street Dive and Circles Around the Sun and entered a new decade. But it’s the ever-evolving relationships between her closest friends and bandmates that has propelled the Hudson Valley-based artist onto her new album And Southern Star––a truly collaborative effort that ruminates on the choices we make, and the people we always come back to.

Davis earned her degree in harp performance at the Crane School of Music, and has molded her classical music training to create an original and genre-bending catalog that weaves together 60s pop-soaked melodies, psychedelia and driving folk rock. She met her bandmates at pivotal moments in her life––drummer Alex Coté in childhood, guitarist Cian McCarthy and bassist Shane McCarthy in college, and steel guitarist Kurt Johnson in her early twenties. It’s the band’s collective step into adulthood that has informed much of And Southern Star’s thematic landscape.

“I just want to write and perform songs that touch the heart and help others”. Letting go of genre, expectation, and boxes, Satsang has leaned into the power of songwriting to drive their release, Flowers From The Fray (the band’s 5th album in 6 years). Recorded and self-produced with the help of bandmate and longtime collaborator Parker Brown, this record finds the duo tucked away in a secluded cabin in Southwest Montana digging back into the foundation on which Satsang was founded on. “These songs were all so personal to me” says Drew McManus. “Whether it was really sifting through the stage of life I had found myself in which was a kind of dark night of the soul, or leaning into the love of my wife. This record is truly me bearing my heart. I needed to seclude myself to find out where these songs wanted to go, and having Parker’s musical guidance had a big hand in that. ”This record, coupled with the band’s last release All. Right. Now. is a maturing. A growing into the songwriter and musicians that the band was destined to be. A settled and firm foundation of influences and sound that brings every external aspect in and finds it internalized and distilled into “Flowers From the Fray”.

featuring Renee Maskin, Blush, The Hard Maybes and The Foes of Fern

    Doors 7:00 pm
    Showtime 7:30pm

    RENEE MASKIN:

Known for her distinctive voice, literally and artistically, Renee Maskin is a staple of the thriving music scene in Asbury Park, NJ. With three solo LPs released in three years, her prolific output pulls from a deep well of influence, from country, to garage, to modern indie-rock.

Maskin has notably opened for a wide range of acts, including Jon Langford (Mekons), William Tyler, Del Amitri, Tyler Ramsey, and notably toured with her former group, Lowlight, in support of The Pretenders. Maskin was named “Songwriter of the Year 2023” by New Jersey Stage Magazine. Her most recent LP, Shimmer, was named one of 2023’s National Top Albums by The Aquarian.

    BLUSH:

Blush is an Asbury Park based band that plays groovy indie rock with notes of pop, blues, and funk. The band consists of Jon Bass on drums, Jackie Flanders on keys, Evan Hutchins on guitar, and Joy Morgan on bass and was formed in September of 2023. Influences are the B-52s, The Doors, Ben Folds, The Beatles, Talking Heads, and No Doubt.

    THE HARD MAYBES:

The Hard Maybes are like the sound of Pop Rocks being poured into an ice cold glass of Coca Cola; unmistakably familiar but tough to pin down.

They marry girl group gravitas with gritty indie style in way that no one else in the New Jersey scene seems to be able to do quite so effectively. And for that, they’ve earned themselves a standout place within it, despite only having made their debut in 2022. Lead vocalist Harley Cunha sings like the most left-swiped Disney Princess on the Internet. But rest assured, there are no Tinder Kings in these songs and the band’s no-effs-given attitude makes that abundantly clear.

    THE FOES OF FERN:

The Foes of Fern are an Asbury Park-based band that is known for performing an exhilarating blend of genres, once referred to as “Soulful Multilayered Organic Indie Folk Rock” by music venue, The Saint.

Marrying drums, bass, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, among other instruments, The Foes bring the party to Asbury Park, playing at many of the local music venues including The Stone Pony, Wonder Bar, Asbury Lanes, and Low Dive. On June 16th, 2023, The Foes of Fern released their second studio album, “Rerun.” Their first album, “Carpe Diem”, was released in August 2020. You can listen to both on Spotify. The Foes of Fern are represented by Telegraph Hill Records.

North 2 Shore presents Asbury Jams Kickoff featuring Mihali

    Doors 7:00 pm
    Showtime 8:00pm

For Mihali, music behaves much like a living being.

It grows, matures, and changes with a sentient consciousness and whims of its own. The Vermont-based solo singer, songwriter, guitarist, artist, and Twiddle co-founder follows reggae’s evolutionary ebb and flow, existing in a perpetual state of inspiration and creation, and remaining committed to sonic evolution. Exuding a balanced mix of rich influence, Mihali’s music entwines reggae spirit, fluid soundscape architecture, and invigorating mantras meant to be chanted aloud in a packed venue.

Following years of fan demand, Mihali served up his solo debut, Breathe and Let Go, in 2020. It boasted collaborations with Citizen Cope, Matisyahu, G. Love & Special Sauce, and Trevor Hall, and instantly reacted with audiences, gathering millions of streams. In addition to glowing reviews from JamBase and Live For Live Music, Grateful Web exclaimed, “Mihali’s musical talent is special.”

During the global pandemic, Mihali kept writing songs. One particular tune, “All Day” [feat. Nathan Aurora], reminded him of tourmates and friends Iya Terra, so he sent the demo to vocalist and guitarist Nathan Feinstein. Vibing with the direction, Nathan finished the song and fired it back to Mihali, unassumingly kicking off the process behind his new record, Effection [released July 22, 2022].

“It was very easy,” Mihali says with a smile. “Reggae has always been such a passion of mine. I’d write a song, send it to Nate, and we’d work on it. It simply happened. We basically agreed, ‘Let’s write a record.’ It was more about having fun as buddies. Nathan’s a genius. He did all of the drums, bass, piano, and a bit of guitar. Every morning, I would wake up to a new .wav file, and it was like Christmas!”

They finished the record remotely, with Nathan behind the board as producer. After teasing its arrival with “Maplewood,” Mihali unveiled the single “Greater Escape” [with The Movement & The Elovaters]. The gritty dub track features a simmering, synth and guitar driven beat, accented by explosive verses from Josh Swain of reggae-rock quartet The Movement and Jackson Weatherbee of The Elovaters.

“I was getting overwhelmed in life,” he admits. “Sometimes, you have to take that much-needed break to do what makes you happy instead of getting caught up in the details of what’s bringing you down. Some people climb mountains; other people party. It’s all about what gets you there. Musically, it’s so different from anything I’ve ever done. Nathan has so many connections and gave me a lot of access to great minds such as The Movement and The Elovaters.”

Waves of guitar buoy Mihali’s flowing delivery on third single, “Living Is The Lesson” [with Iration]. He enlisted the support of veteran California dub-pop band Iration for the track, which is accompanied by an animated music video in psychedelic pastel by Kamil Dymek.

“It’s an ode to living in the present and trying to enjoy it rather than looking at the future,” he goes on. “A lot of us are so nose down to the grind trying to achieve a goal, that we miss out on the good things in our lives. It’s horrible to look back and see what you could’ve experienced.”

Then, there’s the title track “Effection” [with SOJA]. Horns pipe up over a laid back guitar riff before Mihali urges, “Wake up the love inside of you,” as Hemphill counters with a commensurately thoughtful cameo.

“It’s about making positive changes in your life to get healthier, which is usually very difficult to do,” he notes. “You have to really want it and call upon yourself to get there. I love SOJA’s lyrics. They resonate with the album and the current times.”

Representing the most striking progression on the record, Mihali joins forces with bluegrass phenomenon The Kitchen Dwellers for “Ballad of Broken.” It incorporates “untraditional reggae instruments” — a la banjo, mandolin, and upright bass — into a luminous anthem.

“It’s a nice, sad country song, reggae-style,” he grins. “It was new territory for all of us.”

In the end, living remains Mihali’s greatest lesson, and his music continues to transform with him.

“I tried not to go super heavy or deep on the emotions,” he leaves off. “Instead, there’s a lot of happiness and hope on Effection. Personally, I’m wearing a lot of hats right now. I’m incredibly proud and excited to be releasing so much music and, as always, evolving.”

    North 2 Shore presents Dramarama
    Special Guests: The Midnight Callers

    Doors 8:00 pm
    Showtime 8:30pm

For this show Dramarama will perform, for the first time ever, in its entirety, their 1991 album “Vinyl” along with all of your Dramarama favorites in a 2 hour plus show!

Rooted in distorted grit, punk energy, and American songbook eloquence, and sporting three of the original “four-ish” members.

Well, they didn’t start out with a permanent drummer), Dramarama has always been both classic and cutting-edge. This iconic alternative rock group was formed in the basement of a record store in Wayne, New Jersey by John Easdale [singer, songwriter], Mark Englert [lead, rhythm guitar], Peter Wood [lead, rhythm guitar], and have, for the past 18-plus years, been joined by Mike Davis [bass], and Tony Snow [drums], who not only preserve but strengthen the spirit that established Dramarama as a historymaking force in 1982.

As the story goes, John, Peter and Mark traded New Jersey for Los Angeles. Long before the nineties alt rock radio boom, the West Coast initially embraced the group’s single, “Anything, Anything (I’ll Give You…)” (off their 1985 debut, Cinéma Vérité), as the de facto anthem of the nascent alternative nation. It notably made history as one of the most requested songs of all time on the World Famous KROQ 106.7 FM in Los Angeles. It could also be heard loud and clear everywhere from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master to HBO’s Entourage. And although Dramarama has yet to become a household name (still the next big thing), Easdale’s work has been cited as an influence on several major bands of the last three decades.

On the heels of Cinéma Vérité’s success the band delivered a decade of fan favorite albums: Box Office Bomb [1987], Stuck in Wonderamaland [1989], Vinyl [1991] and Hi-Fi Sci-Fi [1993], and after a 10-year hiatus served up Everybody Dies in 2005. As their legacy solidified, more critical praise followed. The Chicago Sun Times christened them “one of America’s best rock bands” and the Los Angeles Times proclaimed Easdale “one of the finest singer/songwriters of these times.” And the praise continues as Dramarama’s latest release, Color TV, was named one of the Top 10 Albums of 2020 by legendary music journalist and critic Robert Christgau.

The band is having more fun than ever and exudes a confidence and ease that can only come through experience and mutual respect. As Easdale puts it, “Few things compare to that sense of uninhibitedness you feel during a great show — waving your fist, stomping your feet, singing out loud and not [caring] about anything but the music. I’m proud to say that this is the feeling experienced by both the band and audience at the vast majority of Dramarama live shows — fast, tight, loud, sweaty sing-a-longs. EVERY time we play, the audience’s pleasure is our primary concern.”

    WILL EVANS

Will Evans pulls everyone into his embrace. He musically accesses a space without boundaries where all are welcome to commune openly and move freely. Through quotable folk-inspired lyrics, breezy grooves, and roots energy, it’s as if he’s giving you permission to be that pure self you can’t always be at work or even at home…

The Rhode Island-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist also puts his words into action via his “Kind Folk” fan community, activating small acts of kindness, charity, and goodwill in tandem with performances nationwide. After generating over 50 million streams independently, he inspires once again through a series of 2024 releases and much more to come.

“I want to make music that moves you,” he states. “It’s rooted in compassion, kindness, and community. With anything I release, there’s a lot of passion behind it. I’m always giving you the most authentic version of myself.”

Buzzing out of the East Coast, he has consistently engaged and enraptured a fervent audience. By rotating between acoustic guitar, didgeridoo, handpan, percussive beatboxing, and more, he has developed a living and breathing signature sound of his own. Following Wishin’ Well [2013] and Signal Flares [2015], he reached a creative tipping point on Rise [2018]. Beyond collaborations with Trevor Hall, Mihali, and Paul Izak, it yielded the fan favorites “Adam & Eve”, “Rise” and “Hoka Hey” with over 5 million streams and counting. The album notably garnered three nominations at the New England Music Awards. 2023 saw him share After The Burnt Out Sun. Met with critical acclaim, “a sophisticated collection,” Seven Days professed, “the record showcases Evans’ multi-instrumentalist prowess.” Between selling out shows across the United States and Europe, he has graced bills alongside Crosby & Nash, Grace Potter, Bruce Hornsby, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Trevor Hall, and Railroad Earth, to name a few. Meanwhile, “Kind Folk” has supported philanthropic organizations, including Surfrider Foundation, Operation Warm, Do It For The Love Foundation, Always Home, and more. Their campaigns have ranged from beach cleanups, clothing and food drives and benefits for land trust organizations.

All the while, he continually pushes himself sonically.

    BERMUDA SEARCH PARTY

Unapologetically energetic, uplifting and with a live show that has been described as a “celebration of life”, Bermuda Search Party (FKA The Q-Tip Bandits) have emerged as a vibrant act that continues to touch audience’s hearts while getting them up on their feet.

After meeting in college and cutting their teeth in the Boston DIY music scene, the band recorded and released their self-produced debut LP, Melancholy Flowers, in 2022. Dynamic yet intimate, Melancholy Flowers features the vocal stylings and songwriting of both guitarist Leo Son and bassist Claire Davis, and smooth and soaring trumpet and trombone from Maclin Tucker and Hoyt Parquet. The band toured in support of the record throughout the year, culminating in four Boston Music Awards nominations, for Live and Pop Act of the Year, Song of the Year for “Daisy,” and Album of the Year.

Since then, the band has played hundreds of stages across the country, making their way from coast to coast and hitting festivals along the way including Boston Calling, Levitate Music Festival, SXSW, and Treefort Music Festival, before returning to the studio in September 2023 with producer Eric Palmquist (half•alive, Tate McRae, Bad Suns, Hunny) to record their much anticipated sophomore album.

This show will feature some Shadowland originals a few Jukes tunes, and lots of Glenn’s upbeat signature bluesy roots rock ‘n’ roll to keep the party Jukin’ all night!

“Alexander himself is a bit of a shadowy phantom. Raised on southern rock and midwest blues, he’s studied jazz and progressive rock and plays the six-string like a feral beast … Shadowland (the album) has flavors of Memphis, Chicago, Jersey City, all in the mix. It’s blues rock, but then again not. It’s Southern rock, but then again more. It’s rock and roll, slathered in funky soul with a machine-gun guitar at its forefront. It’s Glenn Alexander and company at their very best, and it absolutely should be in your collection.” J.D. Nash – American Blues Scene

    LowDown Brass Band
    Kyle Sparkman

The LowDown Brass Band is a uniquely strong representation of Chicago music culture. Providing a modern take on soul, funk, hip hop, and jazz, this multifaceted all-horn band boasts freedom through the art of their craft, whilst gaining critical acclaim from The Gazette, Fame Magazine, The Chicago Reader and more.

LowDown kick started 2023 with the release of the sun-drenched soul and jazz-infused single Call Me. It was followed by the summer release of Take Me Away, which is a club inspired dance floor lover’s track.

This next single So Long mellows the atmosphere and is a classic hip hop heartbreaker. So Long uses 808, horns, and the story telling of MC Billa Camp and singer Shane Jonas. Let’s take a pause on the dance floor and reflect on the long winter ahead. There is warmth in the flow.

LowDown maintains a constant performing and touring schedule, blessing every venue with their unique blend across multiple genres, and showcasing their ability to amplify the energy of any room with their positive and infectious spirit.

LowDown Brass Band has built a highly-impressive discography, accumulating over 1.1 million streams across Spotify alone with notable performances at Cotai Jazz Fest, The Montreal Jazz Festival, Winnipeg Folk Fest, SummerCamp, Vancouver Jazz Fest, Folk Alliance, Green River Fest, Chicago Jazz Fest, Aspen Jazz Fest, Mile of Music, Alaska’s infamous Salmon Fest, and opening runs with Galactic, Rebirth Brass, Bon Jovi, and others.

LowDown’s next record will be released in the Spring of 2024 and is titled Citizens of the World. LowDown is repped by the Fata Booking Agency (USA and International), Paquin Booking (Canada), and Liberty Music PR (UK). Their music has been featured on Hulu’s Cruel Summer and is also on the Nintendo Switch’s Dec 2023 release Super Crazy Rhythm Castle.

    —–

On a stormy night in Philadelphia with Parliament-Funkadelic blasting in the background, Kyle Sparkman was thrust into this world with a raging-red bushel of hair and an electric guitar in his hands.

His live show – energetic. His lyrics – prophetic. His fashion sense – pathetic.

Once described as “Mac Demarco, John Frusciante, Tom Misch, and disco all rolled into one”, Kyle is on a mission to pollute the world’s hearts and minds with an accessibly groovy brand of guitar-driven rock that blends funk, jazz, psychedelia, & more.

“Neon Fever Dream Home” is Kyle’s sophomore album – six tracks of sonic splendor running the gamut from crunchy funk rock to groovy disco-jazz and everywhere in between.

Musical artists collaborate all the time. We all can identify with that feeling when, your favorite band invites a well known keyboardist, or killer guitarist on stage at a festival or show. It is simply magical.

When renowned keyboardist Nate Wilson, band leader for Ghosts of Jupiter, and founding member of both Assembly of Dust, and Percy Hill, came to moe.’s bassist and vocalist, Rob Derhak with the idea to form a band on those principles, the band Blue Star took its first breath. Enlisting the drumming prowess of moe.’s long time rhythm keeper, Vinnie Amico, and none other than guitarist and vocalist from the legendary bands The Breakfast, Kung Fu, and most recently Lotus, Tim Palmieri, the genesis of Blue Star came to be.

A band of improvisational, jam band musicians that all share an affinity for the classic rock we all know and love. The ditties, the anthems, and the deep cuts that remind us of a different time. They simply write the songs and play the covers that give the audience goosebumps.

    COYOTE ISLAND + BOMBARGO

    COYOTE ISLAND

Equilibrium depends on music. Body, mind, and soul move in a perfect harmony together. Synapses fire and hearts thump in time like a drumbeat. In this respect, the right tune sung at the right moment works like the best kind of natural medicine. Maine-based singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Coyote Island—a.k.a. Mike O’Hehir—recognizes and reveres the restorative potential of songcraft. Mixing folk, reggae, pop, world, cumbia, and psychedelia, he stirs up a sonic elixir meant to invigorate and inspire.

Reeling in over 10 million streams and counting and packing shows, authentic intention underscores his artistry at all times.

“There’s a deeper purpose to my music,” affirms Mike. “Its pure healing energy has become apparent to me. We want to travel the world and hopefully be able to reach and, possibly, heal anyone in need..” Growing up in Maine, Mike uncovered his passion for music as a kid. Gravitating to folk, he picked up an acoustic guitar and played as many open mics as possible in between marathon busking sessions. His life twisted and turned geographically and creatively. Eventually, he packed a bag and traded the Northeast for Northern California with adventure and “some soul searching” in mind. Life experiences (and a few psychedelics) incited a spiritual epiphany. With senses heightened, his vision became clear.

    BOMBARGO

Bombargo is a Canadian based international touring band that drops a vibrant splash of soul over their distinctive ‘vintage-pop’ sound. Well known for bringing unrivaled energy to the stage with sing-along anthems, double-brother harmonies, and a powerful message that combined make for one of the most captivating live shows ever! Frontman Nathan Thoen’s passionate conviction and ‘Jagger-like’ dance moves even impressed billionaire and music industry icon Sir Richard Branson, quoting “I haven’t seen this type of energy since The Rolling Stones!” – and he would know, having personally signed The Rolling Stones to Virgin Records.

The band began with lead singer Nathan Thoen and guitarist Spencer Chilliak after the two spontaneously met and drove 16 hours to attend Sasquatch Music Festival where they became inspired to start a band. The duo wrote their first song ‘Let It Grow’ during their very first writing session and as part of Bombargo’s debut EP ‘Back on Main’ which would go on to be included in ‘The Top 10 Best Saskatchewan Albums of 2015’ by SaskMusic. This further inspired them to continue writing, touring, and release their first full-length album titled ‘We Are Bombargo’. The group has since evolved into a 7-piece touring band adding Nathan’s brother Anthony Thoen on guitar, additional brothers Matt and Sammy Folkersen on keys and bass respectively, Connor Newton on saxophone, and Niall Cubbon on drums.

Bombargo went on to receive massive acclaim when pop star icon Taylor Swift added their 2018 single ‘Mr. No Good’ to her Spotify Playlist titled ‘Songs Taylor Loves’ alongside mega artists including Ed Sheeran, Camilla Cabello, and Kendrick Lamar. As the only unsigned band on this star-studded playlist, Bombargo was featured on CBC’s the Q, NME, Exclaim, Fashion, Noisey, People, and Billboard. This success was followed up by the release of their single ‘Oxygen’, which pushed Bombargo into the Canadian Hot AC Top 40 Charts for the first time in the fall of 2019. The band also made its US touring debut in late 2019 with their 33 date ‘North American Dream Tour’ which kicked off with Bombargo playing the sold-out Roughriders Labour Day Classic Half-Time Show to over 33,000 people. The band’s US debut at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, CA gained heavy press coverage including a raving article in Billboard Magazine.

The Nth Power believes in the healing power of music. This all-pro alignment of sharp and seasoned musical vets delivers a transcendent blend of soul, funk, rock and rhythm and blues with multi-part vocal harmonies and songs that inspire audiences to dance, groove, make love or just stand there with goose bumps.

The band’s electric live performances have been flooring audiences ever since the group formed in New Orleans during an impromptu jam during Jazzfest nearly a decade ago. After an EP, studio album and two live albums, the band returned in 2021 in support of their second full-length studio release, Reverence, which was featured on the first-round nominations ballot for the 2022 Grammy Awards.

The Nth Power hails from diverse musical backgrounds, races and creeds, but the universal language of love and its power to change lives is the thread that binds them. The trio features drummer Nikki Glaspie, whose credentials include Beyonce, Maceo Parker, Dumpstaphunk and countless more; guitarist and lead vocalist Nick Cassarino, known best for his previous work with Jennifer Hartswick and Big Daddy Kane; and bassist Nate Edgar of reggae giant John Brown’s Body.

    Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers
Can’t Outrun A Memory Record Release Show

About the album, Joe states, “The songs on this record, my 23rd, look back on a very turbulent period in my life, 1968, when I bought my first Fender Telecaster guitar. The making of this record had a whole lot of bumps and bruises along the way but we persevered. We were on a mission and the band was and is playing at its peak.”

JOE GRUSHECKY is a true rock ‘n’ roll survivor, the talented singer, songwriter, and guitarist first bursting onto the scene in 1979 with his band the Iron City Houserockers and their critically-acclaimed debut album, Love’s So Tough. By the time the band released a follow-up in 1980’s Have A Good Time But Get Out Alive, Grushecky had sharpened his songwriting skills to a razor’s edge, and his intelligent blue-collar anthems mixed muscular, guitar-driven rock with elements of blues and soul like nobody before or since. After two more albums that earned great reviews but sold few copies, the Iron City Houserockers called it a day. Grushecky, a Pittsburgh native, returned home to Steeltown and resumed his day job as a teacher working with at-risk youth, a position that he has pretty much held ever since. He stayed out of music for the better part of a decade, returning with a new band – Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers and released the acclaimed Swimming With The Sharks album.
Forty four years and many albums later, Joe Grushecky and his band The Houserockers are still rocking, playing the rock ‘n roll bars that are still open, at an age where many musicians have retired, collecting social security checks. He hasn’t had a label deal in 35 years, Grushecky and the Houserockers are going it on their own, braving the tidal changes that have assaulted the music industry by rocking harder. Through the years, Grushecky has continued to hone his craft as a blue collar, working man’s songwriter and even with the help of his friend Bruce Springsteen, fame and fortune have eluded him, he remains committed to music as a powerful creative force. The release of his new record CAN’T OUTRUN A MEMORY marks the 23rd album of his storied career!

Road to Roots featuring Melody Trucks

Bringing the magic of Roots Rock Revival to the road that goes on forever. Melody Trucks has taken the vision of her Dad’s (Butch Trucks of the Allman Brothers Band) Music Masters camp, Roots Rock Revival, and moved it to the road. She is a percussionist and vocalist who is partnering with young musicians and is mentoring them in the ways of the music industry, while giving them a larger stage to showcase their talents. Melody has a deep understanding of how the music industry can underestimate the talents of the young. Road to Roots showcases these musicians with a mixture of music from her own musical history and her family’s legacy, while also letting them present their own original voices.

    Matt O’Ree Band

Former guitarist for Bon Jovi, NY/NJ Blues Hall of Fame inductee, and crowned King Of The Blues by BB King himself, Matt O’Ree has been a driving force in the blues/rock music scene for the last twenty years. Garnering the attention of artists like Bruce Springsteen, David Bryan (Bon Jovi), Steve Cropper (Booker T & the MG’s), John Popper (Blues Traveler), Bernie Worell (P-Funk), and Hubert Sumlin (Howlin Wolf), all of whom had volunteered to perform on the band’s album, Brotherhood. The newest addition to the band, Eryn, an accomplished artist and songwriter in her own right, won awards such as the BELK Southern Musician Blues Showcase beating out thousands of competitors. She is the youngest artist to be inducted into the NJ/NY Blues Hall of Fame and has performed or opened for artists such as Don McLean, Gregg Allman, Johnny Winter, Robert Cray, Dr. John, Shemekia Copeland, The Gin Blossoms, Little River Band, Marcia Ball, Walter Wolfman Washington, Eric Lindell, Sonny Landreth, The Radiators, Johnny A and so many more. Combined this landed her a gig singing backup vocals with the Smashing Pumpkins on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Matt and Eryn joined forces about 3 years ago and began defining an original vintage-style rock n’ roll sound. They began touring nationally and internationally to rave fan reviews, oh yeah, and not to mention they are also married. Coined NJ’s favorite rock power couple, they and the band take their fans on a ride that hasn’t been heard or seen at this level since the ’70s. Their live show is like revisiting a Zeppelin concert at the Garden, and with Lex Lehman’s smooth soulful bass, John Hummel’s Bonham-esque drums, and Eryn and Layonne’s angelic and gutsy lead and backing vocals, combined with Matt’s blistering guitar, Matt and company have built a foundation that can hold up the biggest house on the block.

    Ryan Gregg

Red Bank native Ryan Gregg in his own words: Trying to make as much cool stuff with as many cool people as I can. Collaboration over competition. We all rise together. Have written and produced songs for puppets, cartoons, and humans on occasion. Work featured on Comedy Central, PBS and more. Pleasure to have shared the stage on piano, keys, and organ with Eric Lindell, Dana Fuchs, J.T. Bowen, Roosevelt Collier, Oteil Burbridge, The Lee Boys, Scott Sharrard, “Stormin” Norman Seldin, The Ocean Avenue Stompers, Melody Trucks, Soul Project Nola, Uncle Scotchy & Juke, Des & the Swagmatics, Jet Weston & the Atomic Ranch Hands, Matt O’Ree, Arlan Feiles, The Black Flamingos, The Billy Walton Band, and many others. Adam Ezra Group

Working outside the confines of the traditional music industry, Adam Ezra and his bandmates – Corinna Smith (fiddle), Alex Martin (drums), Poche Ponce (bass) – built a community of fans through sheer grit and determination, regularly performing hundreds of shows a year for the past two decades without any major label or mainstream radio support. Fusing folk intimacy and rock energy with soul power and pop charm, the band first emerged from Boston in the early 2000s and quickly garnered widespread acclaim for their bold, insightful songwriting and interactive, euphoric performances. From hole in the wall bars and house concerts to sold-out headline shows and dates with the likes of Little Big Town, The Wallflowers, Gavin DeGraw, Train, and The Wailers, Ezra and his bandmates treated every single gig like their last, attracting a die-hard following that believed not just in the music, but in their commitment to activism and social change, as well.

After their tour was cancelled at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ezra brought the show online to continue this commitment and created The Gathering Series which to-date has reached a cumulative audience of 15 million viewers. The bands ongoing daily livestreams since March of 2020 stands as a testament not only to Ezra’s artistic endurance, but also his ability to connect with viewers and provide an accepting and supportive space for newcomers to join his tight-knit community of fans. Through his own experience with COVID, his move across the country, and even his wedding day, Ezra has broadcasted without fail from wherever he found himself each night at 7pm Eastern. In addition to bringing The Gathering Series to the real world as they performed nearly 50 safe, socially distanced shows in parks and backyards around the United States to bring light to fans through music, the band didn’t stop there. Their homegrown festival, The Ramble, hosted by RallySound, raises money and marshals resources to help homeless veterans find safe and dignified housing for the last ten years. While the band was unable to bring the festival to fans live in the year of COVID, they instead incorporated it into The Gathering Series and hosted a 24-hour, nonstop livestream where they raised enough money to help house 64 veterans.

The Adam Ezra Group hit their 500th Live stream show on July 25th, 2021. They have also played an additional 50 backyard socially distanced shows, and are starting to tour heavily again in traditional and outdoor venues. As if this wasn’t enough to keep them busy, the band also embarked on an ambitious new recording series dubbed ‘The Album Project’ which will see the band releasing at least 19 new singles over the next few years. What comes next for the Adam Ezra Group? The future is anyone’s guess right now, and the only thing the Adam Ezra Group knows for sure, is they’ll be out there making music however and whenever they can.

    JAMES MADDOCK & BAND

JAMES MADDOCK’s status as a fixture on the Folk and Americana scene is confirmed with every listen of any song in his prodigious catalog. Relix Magazine put it this way: “James Maddock possesses the kind of lived-in craggy voice that would sound authoritative if he were singing the sports pages. Fortunately, he doesn’t need to do that because his compositional skills are a match for his delivery.”
After fronting the Columbia Records band Wood, whose debut Songs From Stamford Hill was featured prominently on TV shows such as “Dawson’s Creek,” Maddock moved from England to New York City in 2003. His 2009 album Sunrise On Avenue C won a New York Music Award for Best Americana Album, while the follow-up Wake Up And Dream ranked among the top albums of 2011 in WFUV’s (NYC) Listener Poll. With the release of Another Life (2013) and The Green (2015) Maddock continued to demonstrate why many consider him to be one of the best singer/songwriters working today. He has performed with Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nile, Aaron Comess (Spin Doctors) and David Immergluck (Counting Crows). According to radio legend Vin Scelsa, Maddock’s “heartbreakingly beautiful and exquisitely crafted” music “touches the soul.” As a songwriter, James recently had three songs co-written with Mike Scott on the new Waterboys album Modern Blues (which appeared in the Top 50 on the UK Albums Chart), a co-write with Gary Barlow (“Actress”) on Barlow’s new album (2X Platinum), as well as a cut (“Fragile”) on the Dirt On My Tongue album by emerging UK artist Jo Harman. Songs from Another Life have been featured on NBC’s Parenthood and ABC Family’s Switched at Birth. Maddock is a constant live presence in the U.S. and Europe.
Maddock’s latest album, Little Bird in the Neighbourhood, harks back to the acoustic approach of Another Life. With some old and some new musical collaborators (Aaron Comess on drums, Ben Rubin on upright bass, Brian Mitchell on accordion and piano, Scott Sharrard on guitar, Ben Stivers on piano and keys, Craig Dryer on flute, and David Immergluck on guitar) Maddock has delivered another exquisite collection of musical vignettes. Little Bird in the Neighbourhood is available where music is consumed.

    HUNTER ROOT
    with Jackson Pines

Few artists embody the spirit of creative exploration as seamlessly as Pennsylvania-based multi-instrumentalist Hunter Root. His journey is a tale of passion and resilience, and his success is a testament to his intuition and his unique musical vision.

Raised in an environment steeped in classic rock, Hunter’s musical foundation was built alongside his older brother who introduced him to guitar, and opened his eyes to the power of songwriting. As a founding member of the psychedelic rock outfit Medusa’s Disco, Hunter honed his skills on stage, and gained invaluable insight into the labyrinthine workings of the music industry.

Embracing a genre-fluid approach, Hunter’s music weaves together elements of acoustic rock, folk, grunge, and more. His approach to songwriting has evolved over the years, shifting from a lyric-centric process to a music-first methodology. This shift has allowed Hunter to match emotive soundscapes with the narrative potency of his songs, yielding compositions rich in both meaning and emotion. He employs a similarly immersive approach to music production. He writes, records, mixes, and produces all his albums, an uncompromising process that is both demanding and gratifying.

Hunter’s personal experiences heavily influence his music. His acclaimed 2023 album, ‘Arkansas,’ was created as a tribute following the passing of his older brother in 2020, beautifully encapsulating his introspection. Despite calling Central Pennsylvania home, the four years he spent in Arkansas during his youth had a profound impact on his artistry. Consequently, each song is a deeply personal narrative, an homage to the sights, sounds, aches, and scars found there.

Hunter’s music achieved viral success through TikTok and Instagram, where his songs ‘Town Rat Heathen’ and ‘Quicksand Sinking’ struck a chord with users worldwide. He swiftly accumulated hundreds of thousands of followers across both platforms, inevitably driving traffic to Spotify, where his singles have garnered millions of plays.

2024 will see Hunter continue to build on his momentum, as he plans an extensive series of tour dates accompanied by his live band.
