Full and new moon evenings bring higher tides, which bring horseshoe crabs out during May & June to spawn and create the next generation. Head to the beach along Sandy Hook Bay with a park naturalist to discover some of these "living fossils" and learn about the role they play in our local ecosystem. We will begin with some background information on horseshoe crabs and then head to the edge of the beach to look for spawning crabs in action. Please dress for the weather and bring a flashlight.
