The Art of Crewel and “Candlewicking” – Candlewicking is a form of whitework embroidery that traditionally uses unbleached cotton thread on unbleached muslin. So named because during western expansion resourceful women found that the cotton fiber used for candle wicks could be used for embroidery as well – hence the name Candlewick Embroidery. Participants will learn basic stitches and create a simple design to take home. All supplies are provided.
