Description

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 7PM EST, please join Morehouse College and Dean Lawrence Edward Carter for a day of recognition and reflection as the portraits of 15 trailblazing figures are inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel. One of those portraits includes Dr. Clarence B. Jones, Dr. King’s Speechwriter and Chairman of Spill the Honey. As a nonprofit working to amplify the Black-Jewish alliance, Spill the Honey aims to build a multigenerational cultural offensive against hate through education and the arts. The late Rabbi Jacob Rothschild, who became close friends with Dr. King and continued to be an outspoken critic of racism and advocate for social justice after Dr. King’s death, will also have his portrait inducted.

This historic ceremony will feature the unveiling of the many faces who boldly pioneer this year’s theme, “Saving Democracy While Thriving in the Wake of Cosmic Trauma.” The induction will also include a film excerpt of Shared Legacies, introduced by Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence, Founder of the Congressional Caucus on Black-Jewish Relations and Executive Director of the Spill the Honey Foundation. In addition, Grammy Nominated Producer Mali Wilson will sing “Spill the Honey’s” anthem ‘No More Silence’ during the evening programming at the chapel, featuring individuals of many faiths and backgrounds.
